IMAGE FORMATTING
MS Word offers several tools that enable the formatting of images to enhance the appearance of the picture and the quality of the document been produced. Such formatting options as can be found on the Picture tools on the menu bar ranges from changing the size, position, shape or orientation of the picture. Consider the following;
- Image cropping: removing an unnecessary or unwanted part of a picture that is too big and enable you to focus on only the need part of the image. Your manually crop or shape crop any image of your choice.
- Border/Outline: An outline or border is a line added to your image rounding its edges. Adding border to your image enhances the look and beauty. Formatting the outline gives it an extraordinary touch.
- Adjustment: Adjustment tools such as color, contrast, saturation, and tone assist you in changing the looks of the picture or image.
- Corrections: Correction tools helps you to sharpen or soften the image to adjust how clear or blurry it appears. You can adjust the brightness and contrast, which affects the image’s lightness and general intensity.
- Picture Style group: Contains different predefined styles that make image formatting even easier. Picture styles are designed to frame your image without changes its basic settings or effects.
- Compressing Pictures: if you plan to email a document that contains pictures, you’ll need to monitor its file size. Large, high-resolution images can cause your document to become very large, which may make it difficult to attach to an email. Additionally, cropped areas of pictures are saved within the document by default, which can add to the file size. By using the comprising your picture, the resolution is lowered and cropped areas are deleted so as to reduce the size of the picture.
- Artistic Effects: Enable you apply special effects to your image, such as pastel, watercolor, or glowing edges. Since the results are always too bold, ensure to use this effect sparingly (only when it matters the most).
- Color: This command enable you to adjust the image’s saturation (how vibrant the colors appear), tone (the color temperature of the image, form cool to warm), and coloring (the overall tint of the image.
